NextEra Energy Resources is one of the largest wholesale generators of electric power in the U.S and is the largest generator in North America of renewable energy from the wind and sun. Perform routine engineering assignments requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria. Apply standard engineering practices and techniques to specific Engineering situations. Participate in the analysis and evaluation of engineering problems associated with assigned Engineering discipline while developing and testing optimum solutions; evaluates data and recognizes discrepancies in results. Prepare and present reports summarizing results of technical evaluations and recommendations. Coordinate Engineering activities with other Engineering departments and with other company departments. May be required to perform duties and/or assume an assignment outside of normal job duties and requirements to support major outages, as necessary.
The individual filling this position will be responsible for oversight of the operation and maintenance of the Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC) equipment owned by Next Era Energy at the Duane Arnold Nuclear Generating Station. These systems are important to both the power generation and nuclear safety aspects of DAEC and require the oversight of an individual knowledgeable in the construction, maintenance and operation of HVAC equipment. This person also will interface on a routine basis with operations and maintenance personnel at the site. Knowledge and previous experience in these systems is highly desirable, however less experienced candidates with the motivation to grow professionally will have many opportunities to gain system knowledge in the classroom and through on-the-job experiences with senior engineering staff members.

Qualifications
Education Required:
High School Diploma/GED required.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering required.
Experience:
Entry level. Comprehension of engineering principles, theory, and their application to power plant systems, components, and structures.
Broad based knowledge of assigned Engineering specialty. Internship experience preferred but not required.
